Hi! We are Marsha (Guitar, Vocals, Keyboards) Tomal and Debi (Drums) Pomeroy, two of the founding members of The Daughters of Eve. We've started this website so we can connect with you and share some of the best times of the 1960s when we recorded a large group of songs and traveled the United States performing them for so many of you! Thanks for checking us out. Come back often and sign up for our mailing list to stay in touch.
The Daughters of Eve are an all-girl-band first formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1965. The Daughters of Eve are famous for singing and playing their own instruments on pop rock hits rather than using a backing band, as most female performers did in the days of early garage bands. They are particularly known for their international hits, Hey Lover, Stand By Me, Help Me Boy, Symphony of My Soul, Don’t Waste My Time, He Cried, Social Tragedy and A Thousand Stars. The band was managed by Chicago Radio icon, Carl Bonafede (The Screaming Wildman), also known for introducing the Buckinghams to teenage audiences everywhere.
The Daughters of Eve was managed by Chicago Radio icon, Carl Bonafede (The Screaming Wildman), also known for introducing the Buckinghams to teenage audiences everywhere. The Daughters of Eve toured nationally and were especially popular in performances for U.S. Service personnel, and teenage dances across the Midwestern United States. From 1965 to 1968 the band always consisted of founders Debi (drums) Pomeroy, Marsha (guitar, keyboards, vocals) Tomal, and Judy Johnson (guitar, vocals). Bass players included founding player, Andrea Levin (1965-1966), Marylou Davidson (1966-1967), and Lori Wax (1967-1968).
